Mediation is an effective, alternative dispute resolution process where parties work to resolve outstanding issues in their case through the guidance of a registered mediator. This approach empowers both parties to reach a mutually acceptable agreement without court intervention. During mediation, a neutral third party—the mediator—facilitates discussions between you and the opposing party, moving between rooms (in-person or virtual) to assist each side in negotiating a resolution. The mediator remains impartial, bringing no prior knowledge of the case, and while they don't provide legal advice, an experienced mediator often shares insights to help parties evaluate options based on similar cases and judicial outcomes.
